About our Program

Child Smiling with ELP T-Shirt

The Temple City Unified School District’s Extended Learning Program (formally Quality Care) is designed to provide an enriching extension to your child’s school day.

Our program has been in operation since 1992 and is located on campus at five of our school sites, Cloverly, Emperor, La Rosa, Longden, and Oak Ave. It is the intent of the Program to provide for the needs of children by offering an environment that is academically stimulating and fun. We provide programs that are specifically designed with school-age children in mind. Our activities promote the social, emotional, cognitive, linguistic and physical development of each child. Our students have the opportunity to engage in social activities that promote teamwork.

Program staff are TCUSD employees and certified in CPR/First Aid.

More information about our Summer Program will be posted on our “Summer Program” tab.

Comments from ELP Parents and Families

From parent, M.Y.
"Miss Reed and Miss C always give my child positive comments and he is very happy when I pick him up. His homework is always done and I feel safe. I am glad my child is in ELP! Thank you."

From parent, L.T.
"I would love to take a moment to say thank you for all the ELP staff that take care of the kids at La Rosa and Cloverly during the Before and afternoon cares. For those of us that drop off the kids for before-afterschool care. We appreciate the staffs are always ready right at 6:45 a.m. (if not before). This is extremely appreciated for parents that have an early morning work schedule. We know we can always count on them consistently to take care of the kids when we are rushing at work."

From parent, A.C.
"The ELP staff at Emperor is awesome. Very helpful and keep the kids engaged. My son has nothing but positive things to say about ELP at Emperor."

From parent, S.L.
"Both my sons love the program. Especially my younger son. We are new and so far have had a great experience."

From parent, J.O.
"The girls are really enjoying coming. J.O. never stops talking about Mr. B."

From Parent, V.P.
"It’s our 3rd year with ELP and we think it’s a wonderful option for afterschool care! I know my son is safe and cared for with your staff and it really puts my mind at ease. He looks forward to ELP and doesn’t like leaving in the afternoon… which is the best compliment for ELP (: "

From Parent L.T.
"We appreciate what Ms. Gyorcie does every day, especially in the morning for those of us who come to the morning care. She always arrives BEFORE 6:45 a.m. and have the room ready to go. Thank you Ms. Gyorcie!"

From Parent V.W.
"T.W. has been having a great time in ELP and we really appreciate how kind Ms. Bateman is to the little ones. Her team who helps around in the afternoon also provides a lot of good support and care to the kids. I am grateful for your staff."
