Temple City High School ranks in the top 5% nationally and state wide, highlighted by a 98% graduation rate and outstanding college readiness.

TEMPLE CITY, CA — Temple City High School (TCHS), part of the Temple City Unified School District (TCUSD), has been named one of the top public high schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report in its latest edition of the Best High Schools rankings.

In the national evaluation of nearly 18,000 public high schools across the country, Temple City High School placed #984 in the National Rankings and #126 among California high schools.

The U.S. News & World Report rankings evaluate schools on key indicators of academic quality, including college readiness, Advanced Placement (AP) course participation and performance, state assessment proficiency in math and reading, performance of underserved student populations, and graduation rates.

Key performance highlights for Temple City High School include:

  • High Graduation Rate: A 98% graduation rate, significantly exceeding state and national averages.

  • College Readiness: Strong student participation and performance in Advanced Placement (AP) coursework and college-preparatory curricula.

  • Academic Achievement: High proficiency scores on California state assessment standards in English language arts and mathematics.

The U.S. News Best High Schools evaluates public high schools on a 0 to 100 overall percentile scale based on college readiness, state assessment scores, and graduation rates, aiming to identify schools that excel at serving all students and preparing them for postsecondary success. TCHS scored a 95.45 out of 100 on the overall evaluation, solidifying the school’s high national ranking.
