We had another busy week at Longden!
Here’s a quick look at what’s been happening—and what’s coming up next.

🎉 Happy 100th Day of School!
We celebrated 💯 days of learning, growing, and having fun throughout the school with activities, yummy treats, creative projects, and exciting challenges.

🧺🥪 Lunch on the Lawn
Don’t you just love Lunch on the Lawn? We crossed our fingers, sent all the positive vibes—and luckily, the weather was perfect! 🌞 Everyone enjoyed a wonderful meal on the lawn, filled with music and the joyful sounds of children and families having fun. Thank you to all who joined us for this special event!

🔍 Looking Ahead — More Learning and Fun!
  • 🐾 The Great Kindness Challenge runs from January 26–30. Join us in making Longden, our schools, and our community a kinder, more compassionate place for everyone.
  • 🐯🎉 Spirit Assembly featuring the theme of the month, Kindness, hosted by the 4th grade.
  • 📜 Sixth-grade field trip (three classrooms will be attending).

Temple City Girls Softball is a non-profit youth sports organization dedicated to teaching softball fundamentals and life skills through good sportsmanship, leadership, positive coaching, and peer and parent communication. Girls ages 6-14 can join!

Celebrate Your Student’s Birthday in Lights!

Make their day extra special with a birthday shout out on our new digital marquee. Submit your birthday message request using the attached Google form and drop off your $20 tax-deductible donation to the office or pay by credit card using the link in the form. Google Form
Just a friendly note: if you send us any requests during breaks or on days when school is not in session, our response might be delayed until we're back. Thanks for your understanding!
 
Absence

Reporting an absence

If your child is absent for any reason, please call, email, or send a note to our front office at:

Be sure to include:
  • Child's first and last name
  • Date(s) of absence
  • Reason for absence
  • Name of parent/guardian reporting absence
Deliveries

Deliveries

Please be advised that the office does not allow lunch drop-offs, water bottles, instruments, homework, schoolwork, books, etc. Your understanding and cooperation are highly appreciated as we work together to create an environment that maximizes student learning and maintains a safe, closed campus.
What if your child forgets breakfast or lunch?
Our cafeteria will provide nutritious options at no charge.

Would you like to become a Parent Volunteer?

  1.  Please fill out the Longden Parent Volunteer Form
  2.  Have all of the necessary documents requested in the form
  3. Communicate with your child's teacher to confirm the time & date to volunteer.
*Please note: Not all teachers request volunteers. You will still have volunteer opportunities with Longden PTA.
