⋆。‧˚ʚ🐯ɞ˚‧。⋆ Hello, Longden Families.

🎃 First and foremost, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who answered our call and donated candy for our trick-or-treating and haunted library events! Your kindness and generosity brought so many smiles, and sugar rushes to our Tigers. Today was filled with laughter, Halloween magic, and community spirit—because of YOU! We’re so grateful for our amazing community. You made this day spooktacular!

🫶🏼Red Ribbon Week was a success! Students and staff showed incredible school spirit with themed dress-up days and fun activities. From colorful outfits to inspiring messages, the week was filled with positive energy and reminders about making healthy, drug-free choices.
The Door Decorating Contest was a great way to wrap up Red Ribbon Week. Everyone’s creativity shone through, and our judges had quite the challenge choosing the winners.
🏆 And the winners are…
 TK–Kinder: Miss Valenzuela
 1st–3rd Grade: Mrs. Lee
 4th–6th Grade: Miss Montes
Congrats to our winners! ❤️

🎉 Our Spirit Assembly highlighting Honesty was incredible! Our 3rd graders rocked it with a song, a skit, and lots of energy!

During our assembly, we were honored to receive a $5,000 grant from the Barona Band of Mission Indians to support new Social Studies Weekly materials. The grant was presented by Assemblymember Mike Fong, who also celebrated students recognized for honesty, truthfulness, and fairness. Each student received a purple dog tag and a free meal certificate from Panda Express. It was a memorable way to celebrate great character!
A huge shoutout to Jerry Jambazian of Temple City Photos for capturing event.

🧟🐈‍⬛🧛🏻‍♀️ A Parade, Trick-or-Treating, and a Haunted House—Oh My! What an amazing day we had today! From the morning parade filled with creative costumes to the spooky-fun haunted house in the library and classroom performances, the Halloween spirit was everywhere. Students, teachers, and families made it a day to remember!
We’ve included a few highlight photos and short video clips in this newsletter, but there’s so much more to see! Head over to Temple City Photos to watch the full parade video and check out tons of extra pictures. (They’ll be posted soon—so keep refreshing the page!)

We have another exciting week planned for next week. Here's a quick sneak peek of the fun activities we’ve lined up:
  •  PTA's Dia de los Muertos Altar
  • PTA's Mobile Dairy Assembly
  • Two Kinder classes - Oak Giving Bach field trip.

🗽🪖 🦅 Field of Honor

🇺🇸 🦅 Let’s show our appreciation for the incredible men and women who have served our country! This Veterans Day, Longden is creating a Field of Honor with a beautiful & patriotic display of U.S. flags proudly waving on our lawn.

Flyers are heading home, and attached to each one is a name tag for your child to fill out in honor of a family member, friend, or relative who has served in a branch of our great military. 🫡 🫶🏻

Once returned, we’ll attach the tags to flags and display them as a heartfelt way to honor those who’ve protected our freedom. 🇺🇸🗽🦅

Let’s fill the hill with flags, love, and gratitude! USA ❤️🤍💙

Food Allergies

Food Allergies

We need your support regarding the sharing of food or drinks.
The rise in food allergies among children means that even the tiniest exposure to allergens could be potentially severe or life-threatening. This year, we've seen an increase in students with various food allergies. Ensuring a safe environment for all students is more crucial than ever.
Here's how you can help make Longden safer for all students:
  • Please remind your child never to share their food and drinks with other students.
  • Please remind your child never to eat or drink anything offered to them by others.
  • Please remind your child to wash their hands before and after eating.
Your support for children with allergies is extremely valuable. Together, we can make a real difference and ensure the safety and well-being of all our students.
