⋆。‧˚ʚ🐯ɞ˚‧。⋆ Hello, Longden Families.

We had another fantastic week of learning and fun at Longden, and here are some highlights!

🎨 The Longden Library's paper pumpkin decorating contest was a huge success, and we were blown away by our Tigers' talent and creativity!

🫶🏼 Big shout-out to our superstar guest judges: Dr. Art Cunha, Dr. Stacy Ayers, and TCUSD Board Member Mary Sneed, who faced a tough job of picking the winners.

٩(^ᗜ^ )و Congrats to everyone who entered — you all rocked it with your awesome designs! We loved seeing all the fun and spooky pumpkins. Can’t wait to do it again next year!

PTA's Fun Run was a tremendous success — thanks to the amazing support of our students, families, and the Longden community! Together, we exceeded our fundraising goal of $40,000, to support school programs, classroom resources, and student activities. A huge thank you to our PTA, everyone who donated and volunteered.

🌳🍁 Our school came together to build a UNITY Tree, with each leaf sharing a kind and uplifting message. It's all about spreading good vibes, celebrating what makes us unique, and standing together against bullying. A little kindness goes a long way — and our tree proves it! Check out more fun pictures of our Unity Day celebration here.

🏈𓃵💚💛 TC Rams teamed up to help our Tigers during drop-off this morning. What a way to kick off the homecoming game tonight! GO RAMS! Don't forget to follow them on Instagram.

We have another exciting week planned for next week. Here's a quick sneak peek of the fun activities we’ve lined up:

Halloween Parade

🔮 🐈‍⬛ 🌙 Longden Halloween Parade 🧟🐈‍⬛🧛🏻‍♀️

𓆩^._.^𓆪 We are very excited about our Halloween Parade and hope you are too! We can't wait to see all of you come out and cheer along the designated parade route. It's going to be a lot of fun! To help everything go smoothly on Friday, October 31, please take a moment to check out the important info below. Gates will open at 8:20 AM, and parents can enter from the Longden and Wendon sides of the campus. The parade will kick off at 8:30 AM.

  • 🧙🏻‍♀️ All students are invited to participate in the parade. Wearing a costume is optional, and they are not required to walk alongside their friends during the festivities.
  • 🦇 Costumes must allow students to freely write, read, complete all classroom assignments, sit properly in a chair, eat, and walk up and down stairs safely. Please do not drop off costumes in the front office; they will not be accepted. Staff cannot assist students with changing in or out of costumes.
  • 🎃 Costumes must be appropriate for an elementary school setting and not too revealing or adult-like.
  • 🕷️🕸️ Costumes cannot be construed as offensive to any ethnic or religious group or promote violent or terrorist organizations.
  • 🧛 No toy weapons of any kind will be allowed, including nunchucks, throwing stars, guns, swords, lightsabers, etc.
Don’t celebrate Halloween? We will offer an alternative activity for students who do not celebrate Halloween or prefer not to join the festivities.
The parade will conclude at approximately 9:00 AM, so please exit promptly after the announcement is made over the loudspeaker.
*Please observe school zone traffic laws and signs posted along the streets. We appreciate your support in making this a fun day for all!

Food Allergies

Food Allergies

We need your support regarding the sharing of food or drinks.
The rise in food allergies among children means that even the tiniest exposure to allergens could be potentially severe or life-threatening. This year, we've seen an increase in students with various food allergies. Ensuring a safe environment for all students is more crucial than ever.
Here's how you can help make Longden safer for all students:
  • Please remind your child never to share their food and drinks with other students.
  • Please remind your child never to eat or drink anything offered to them by others.
  • Please remind your child to wash their hands before and after eating.
Your support for children with allergies is extremely valuable. Together, we can make a real difference and ensure the safety and well-being of all our students.
