🐯Hello, Longden Families.
We had another fantastic week of learning and fun at Longden, and here are some highlights!
👩🏻🔬⚗️🧪In Mrs. Chang's 5th-grade class, students had a blast making S'mores while diving into science. They observed how marshmallows change when heated and discussed the ways heat affects matter. This fun, hands-on experiment allowed them to observe how temperature and energy cause physical changes in everyday objects around us.
ఇ ◝‿◜ ఇ Our amazing counselors hosted the grand opening of the PBIS Tiger Store on Tuesday and Wednesday, where excited students redeemed their hard-earned Tiger Stripes. Thank you to our parent volunteers for your support in making the Tiger Store possible through your donations and purchases from our
Tiger Store Amazon Wish List. Your generosity helps us expand the store and offer more incentives for students who follow the
Tiger Code -Be Kind, Safe, and Responsible. 🐾
📸 Picture day went smoothly, with everyone smiling and looking their best. Didn’t get to take a picture? No problem—makeup pictures will be taken on October 30.
👨🏻💻👩🏻💻This week we wrapped up the i-Ready diagnostics, and we look forward to gaining insights from the results. This first assessment helps our staff understand each child's needs in reading and math. The results will be sent home as soon as they are ready.
We have another exciting week planned for next week. Here's a quick sneak peek of the fun activities we’ve lined up, including a SSC Meeting, Coffee with the Principal, a spirit assembly, and more:
- ☕Tuesday, we are coming together again for Coffee with the Principal. Mark your calendars, grab your favorite mug, and join us!
- Our Student Spirit Assemblies are always a hit with students, and we’re super excited for Wednesday's assembly!
🔔👉We need your assistance! Clothing must not disrupt school activities or compromise student safety. Open-toed shoes, sandals, flip-flops, slippers, shoes with wheels, Crocs, and similar footwear are not allowed. If a student's shoes cannot be worn during recess or physical education (PE), they should not be worn to school. Students wearing any of these types of footwear will be sent to the office, and their parents will be contacted. They will remain in the office until safe footwear is provided.
