Kiwanis Honors Temple City High School Students

The Kiwanis Club of Temple City recognized two outstanding students from Temple City High School. Accompanying the students was their TCHS Principal Dr. Jennifer Lashier.

Jacob is 16 years old and has a four brothers. He enjoys art, reading, monga, watching anime, and music. Jacob said, “The best things about Temple City High School are the amazing teachers, the friendly and welcoming student community, and the beautiful and useful library”. The best thing that ever happened was coming to America, it opened new opportunities and meeting amazing people. If he could change one thing, it would be to not sleep and not feel tired. If he could build one thing, it would be a giant library with a cafe. Personal goals are to get into a good college, become friends with his new mentee, and get into AP Studio Art in his senior year.

Haley is 18 years old and has an older brother. She enjoys coaching soccer, going on adventures, playing soccer, and photography. Haley said, “The best things about Temple City High School are all the welcoming staff members, Graphic Communication with Ms. Kidd, and the ASB festivities”. The best thing that ever happened was having her mom in her life for almost eighteen years. If she could change one thing, it would be to end the liberal and conservative hate for one another. If she could build one thing, it would be a machine to make endless clear and safe water to drink. Personal goals are to have financial stability, a career with personal satisfaction, marriage and family harmony, and a commitment to improve her physical health, mindset, and balance.

Each week the Temple City Kiwanis Club is pleased to recognize outstanding students and their teachers from Cloverly, Emperor, Longden, Oak Avenue, Temple City High School, and the Dr. Doug Sears Learning Center. Kiwanis treats students and their teacher to lunch. Students receive a certificate, a letter for their parents, a bumper sticker, a gift certificate from The Hat Restaurant and North Woods Inn, and a photograph of them receiving their award.

Temple City Kiwanis has been serving our community since 1939. Members are dedicated men and women who desire to make a difference in the quality of life for the youth of Temple City. Kiwanis meets at 12:00 noon each

Tuesday at North Wood’s Inn Restaurant. To find out more about Kiwanis, please contact Jerry Jambazian at (626) 643-9460.
