⋆。‧˚ʚ🐯ɞ˚‧。⋆ Hello, Longden Families.
There's no such thing as a slow week at Longden. Read on to catch up on what’s been happening and get a sneak peek at what’s coming.
-ˋˏ ༻❁༺ ˎˊ- Dia de los Muertos
A huge thank you to our wonderful PTA for creating a beautiful ofrenda display in honor of Día de los Muertos! 💐 It was so special to see students and staff share photos and drawings of their loved ones—both people and pets. Our ofrenda was a heartfelt tribute to those we hold dear in our hearts. 💖
🐮
A very special visitor greets Longden—Lollipop, the dairy cow! There were lots of “ooohs” and “ahhhs” from students as she munched on her food, took a comfy rest, and showed off her gentle nature. Students learned all about cows—from their organs and tails to their thick skin and how they use it to fight off insects—and discovered how these amazing animals contribute to environmental sustainability. On Monday, the remaining grade levels will have a chance to meet Lollipop—or perhaps one of her sisters from the dairy farm! 🐄 Thank you, PTA, for the assemblies, programs, and everything you do for Longden's Tigers! 🫶🏼 Click

🎻 𝄞⨾𓍢ִ໋ “Giving Bach” Concert
This week, two of our kindergarten classes visited Oak Ave. Intermediate School for the “Giving Bach” concert! The student musicians put on an amazing show, giving our little ones a chance to learn about music in a hands-on way. The rest of our kindergarteners can’t wait for their turn next week!
🌊🦈 Fourth grade is where fun, excitement, and learning converge!
Our teachers went
a fin above the rest by combining a Wonders writing task with an unforgettable shark assembly from the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium. Students had the chance to see, touch, and explore these fascinating ocean creatures up close. This hands-on experience gave them a fresh perspective as they dove into writing their own informative papers about sharks! ⊹ ࣪ ﹏﹏𓂁﹏⊹ ࣪ ˖ Head over to

Snack Tectonics in Mrs. Hsieh's Classroom! 🌋
Mrs. Hsieh's students explored how Earth's plates move. Students used graham crackers, Fruit Roll-Ups, and other snacks to show plates pulling apart, crashing together, and sliding past each other. Who knew learning about Earth’s crust could be so sweet? 🌍🍬 See more pictures

We have another exciting week planned. Here's a quick sneak peek of the fun activities we’ve lined up:
- Mobile dairy assembly.
-
Veterans Day—No School.
- 🪶🏹 Fourth-grade students bring their lessons to life using their skills and creativity to craft unique items to trade with one another on Barter Day.
- Our Thanksgiving food drive is kicking off on November 12th. Every donation counts—and every little bit makes a big difference! Let’s fill some pantries and hearts this holiday season. ❤️
