Mr. Phil Bailey

It is my honor and pleasure to be teaching music at the junior high and high school that I went to when I was a student at Oak Avenue and Temple City High School.  At the high school, I teach Marching Band, Symphonic Band, and Orchestra.  At Oak Avenue, I teach Band 2.  I want to help make sure that every musician has a great experience like I did when I was here.  Music helps support our everyday lives in everything we do.  It is just as important to support the arts, as it is to use those gifts to support each other through our actions.  And, it greatly shows when we support through our performance for those around us at school.

  • For First Semester, Marching Band meets at 7:15 am. We have many performances throughout the year and have our busiest schedules during the fall.

For Second Semester, Period 0 becomes Jazz Band. We have 2 Jazz Bands that are formed through seating auditions before the second semester starts.  Jazz Band is optional, but all who are interested are encouraged to participate and audition.

For Symphonic Band, this is a year long class.  The first semester supplements marching band season, while the second semester is focused on the typical concert band setting.

All Orchestra classes at Temple City High School are year long classes and have performances throughout the year.  For Orchestra and Advanced Orchestra members, Honors Orchestra auditions are held after Spring Break.
