Intro: Greetings! My name is Anthony Russell and I have been teaching at Temple City High School since 2007 in the Social Science department.  I currently teach World History and World History ELD/Sheltered.

Bio: Born and raised in Temple City, California and proud graduate of Temple City High, I chose to pursue a career teaching in my home town.

Teaching Philosophy: As a high school teacher, the one thing that I constantly focus on is the relationships that I have built with my students. I enjoy having conversations with them on subjects that are important to them, and learn how they are feeling about and experiencing the world and the material that we are studying in class.  A big part of my philosophy is trust and respect.  If I can build that type of relationship with students, it leads to a more positive classroom environment and student success.

World History/Geography P2, P3, P4, P6: Welcome to my World History/Geography class.  The class curriculum will begin with World Religions and progress through the First World War by the end of the first semester.  The second semester will focus on post-World War I to the present.  We will also focus on physical and political geography throughout the year.  In addition to class content, students will analyze pertinent primary and secondary documents and write a college-level research paper.  All assignments are located at:https://classroom.google.com/c/Njk1OTYyMDkwOVpa

World History ELD/Sheltered P7: This course will place a strong emphasis on SDAIE activities/strategies, vocabulary focusing on proper grammar and sentence structure, historical concepts, geography, group work, and visual learning.  Students will focus on improving English language skills while learning World History content.  The class curriculum will begin with World Religions and progress through the First World War by the end of the first semester.  The second semester will focus on post-World War I to the present.  We will also focus on political and physical geography throughout the year.  It is my hope that all my ELD students walk away from this class with higher language skills that can be applied to their future non-ELD classes as well as college work.  All World History/Geography SHELTERED assignments are located at:  https://classroom.google.com/c/NzAxODc4ODk3OFpa
