Message from the Superintendent - January 28, 2019

  • Dear Students, Staff, Parents and Community Members of the Temple City Unified School District:

I would like to take this opportunity to say that I am honored and excited to be your next superintendent of schools. It is a privilege to serve this wonderful community. I assure you that I appreciate this unique opportunity and the enormous responsibility that goes with the position. As your superintendent, I look forward to getting to know all of you over the coming weeks and months, and will begin by visiting schools, functions, activities and events.

As an educator, my guiding principle is having a student-centered focus which is based on the belief that every child can, and will, attain the education and skills necessary to achieve their goals and create purposeful, bright and meaningful futures. I am humbled and grateful to the members of the Temple City Board of Education for placing their faith in me, and I intend to work in partnership with them in guiding this District forward.

Over my 20-year career I have held many roles within the educational system including: science teacher, counselor, principal, executive director, and assistant superintendent of educational services. Each experience has prepared me to lead our school district in order to meet the high expectations embodied by our community and to enhance innovative programs benefiting our students. My journey has taught me that collaboration with all stakeholders is essential to achieving success. In addition, I truly value and appreciate the hard work and dedication of our educators and support staff, as well as the strength of a unified Board and community.

Our focus in TCUSD is one of striving for excellence. We believe all children can learn and achieve at high levels. We care about each and every student, and are committed to provide our best efforts as teachers, administrators, mentors and advocates. Our schools must continue to be safe places where students are engaged, challenged, and prepared to meet the standards necessary for the college and career opportunities that await them. More importantly, we are committed to providing an environment where the excitement of learning is consistently encouraged. We want students to build productive and sustaining relationships, and know that our sole purpose is to support them as they become not only productive citizens, but our leaders of tomorrow.

I am excited about our future. As always, our top priority will be to deliver excellence in all endeavors and achieve the goals and objectives that we collectively embody.

    Thank you,
    Kimberly Fricker, Ed.D.

    Superintendent of Schools
